I am thrilled to introduce Adam to my readers. If you have been following our blog for a while, you probably already know Adam. He is the talented author of Eyes on Brazil, a wonderful blog which I have mentioned here before. The great news is that now Adam is a columnist for our blog here at Street Smart Brazil and will write a weekly post on Brazilian culture. Que beleza!
Adam is a writer and a researcher who has studied Brazilian culture for the last decade and blogged about all things Brazilian for the last two and a half years at Eyes On Brazil. Having taught himself Portuguese, he put it to practical use by spending close to a year in Brazil, in such places as Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and even Belém, at the mouth of the mighty Amazon river.
So what should you expect from his column? It’s probably best if he shows you. Click here to read his first post with Street Smart Brazil.

Hi Vanessa,
Thank you very much! Glad to know my writing is being enjoyed. I have yet to visit the Northeast but it’s definitely in the plans. Pernambuco looks like a great place and with Recife being one of the World Cup cities, it will be on the radar of a lot more foreign tourists. Plus a huge int’l airport is being built in Natal, meaning international flights mights not have to go to SP or Rio. Maybe I’ll come visit on my next trip…first I need to renew my visa!
