Kitchen vocabulary - Portuguese lesson - Brazilian Portuguese

Do you like to cook and entertain? In this Portuguese lesson you will learn a lot of kitchen vocabulary in Portuguese. I also give you pronunciation tips in the video. These tips will benefit your Portuguese in general, of course, not only your kitchen vocabulary.

46 Things in the Kitchen in Portuguese

Well, the list actually includes a few verbs, so it is not all about things in the end.

  1. a cozinha = kitchen
  2. o garfo = fork
  3. a faca = knife
  4. a colher = spoon
  5. os talheres = cutlery
  6. o porta-talheres = cutlery holder
  7. a colher de pau = wooden spoon
  8. a espátula = spatula
  9. o prato = plate
  10. a tigela = bowl
  11. o pires = saucer
  12. a xícara = cup
  13. o copo = glass
  14. a taça = glass (wine), flute (champagne)
  15. a caneca = mug
  16. a louça = dinnerware
  17. lavar a louça = to do/wash the dishes
  18. lavar os pratos = to do/wash the dishes
  19. a máquina de lavar louça = dishwasher
  20. o lava-louça = dishwasher
  21. o armário = cupboard
  22. o balcão = counter
  23. o fogão = stove
  24. o forno = oven
  25. o forno de microondas = microwave oven
  26. a panela = pots and pans
  27. a tampa da panela = lid 
  28. a  frigideira = frying pan
  29. a geladeira = refrigerator
  30. o refrigerador = refrigerator
  31. o congelador = freezer
  32. a garrafa = bottle
  33. a chaleira = kettle
  34. a cafeteira = coffee maker
  35. a prensa francesa = french press
  36. o bule  = teapot, coffeepot
