I recently saw the new Cirque du Soleil show: OVO. Yes, ovo = egg in Portuguese. The name is not by chance. Deborah Colker, a Brazilian dancer and choreographer, created, wrote and directed the show. This is the first time a woman has done so for Cirque du Soleil and the first time a Brazilian has had this honor.
Deborah is beyond amazing. Many years ago I saw one of her shows in Brazil. It was unbelievable. She turns her dancers into acrobats and challenges all laws of gravity. I had never seen anything like that.
Now at Cirque du Soleil she puts on another great spectacle. She brought in a Brazilian set designer and a Brazilian director of music. The soundtrack is totally Brazilian! You get to hear samba, forró, mpb, and bossa nova in an amazing original soundtrack.
The show is unique, as are all Cirque du Soleil shows. The last number — the vertical wall show — is mind-blowing. It is based on previous works by Deborah in which dancers — including Deborah herself — perform their choreography on a vertical wall. At Cirque, they went a step further adding trampolines to the scene.
Ovo is currently in San Francisco and will open in San Jose on Feb 4.
Here are a few videos for you. The first video below is from Fantástico, a Brazilian variety show. It is in Portuguese.

If you search for Deborah Colker on Youtube you will find tons of videos.
Enjoy!
