Oi,
There is a book series called "A Travler's Literary Companion". For a given country, it introduces you to stories from there which are translated into English. The stories are generally organized by region. Brazil: A Traveler's Literary Companion tells short stories from wonderful Brazilian authors. Many voices from big cities and rurally places.
TChau,
John
