There are a bunch of awesome Brazilian desserts that I have tried and love:
Passionfruit mousse
Coconut pudding (Manjar?)
Pe de Moleque (We have something similar called, Peanut Brittle)
These ones I know how to make, is there anything else I am in need of discovering?

Hmmm, I love mousse the maracujá (passionfruit mousse).
We also have a delicious pudim de leite (milk pudim).
Now, the best of all deserts for me is Pavê de Sonho de Valsa. Pavês are cold deserts, made with condensed milk, Brazilian cookies, chocolate and other delicious stuff, depending on the flavor and the recipe. Pavê de Sonho de Valsa has a specific chocolate called Sonho de Valsa. It is a milk chocolate with a crunch wafer type of crust and cashew nut filling. Oh, so good! The pavê is decadent.

I got this pic here http://www.receitascaseiras.com/2009/11/
They have a recipe there.

If you Google Pavê de Sonho de Valsa you will find lots of pictures that are pure torture.

Based on what I've seen, there are no shortage of Brazilian desserts.  I like desserts that include doce de leite.  Sometimes it can be too sweet but I like it, including pudim.  What I'd like to learn as we go are regional dishes/desserts.  My main interest is Recife and Pernambuco so what are the popular meals and desserts there?  Thank you/Obrigado.

Hi Jim
I was writing a reply to your question about deserts pernambucanas,  and decided to turn it into a blog post. I am working on it!

Hey Luciana, I think I have had a Pavê before, now I think about how you name it, I remember the Churrascaria used to make a dessert like that and called it by the name of the chocolate bar they used..... It all makes sense now.
Also after reading your blog I think I had those corn based desserts as well. I think I made canjica because I got given a half a farm of corn and looked up a recipe that would use it up and found something similar from Brazil but by a different name.  Additionally an excited customer at the restaurant brought in something that resembled pamonha but he didn't know the name and I have searched for so long to find out how to make it again! Now I know what to look for, thank you!

Muito obrigado Luciana.
I look forward to read this blog.  I am very interested in learning about the culture, language, style and tastes of Recife, Pernambuco and northeast Brasil.

Oi Mr. Species
In Brazil there is a joke with the name "pavê".
The way we say "to see" is "pra ver". So when some people are offered "pavê",  they ask: "Is it pra ver or pra comer". = Is it to see or to eat?
Silly joke, very common in Brazil :)

I just got asked to make something like 200 Brigadeiros for mothers day at the Churrascaria... Being the big hearted fool that I am I accepted... do you think I need to do anything different with the recipe or how it is cooked to accomodate such a large quantity of mixture??
HELP

wow, parabéns!!! You are now a brigadeiro chef!
I don't feel confident to advise you on that. I would recommend a web search. You can also send Nando Cuca a message. On his YouTube channel he has a video of his kids cooking brigadeiro :)
Let me know how it goes! Boa sorte :)
