Get Your Weekly Dose of Good Brazilian Music

A few months ago I posted on Facebook about Caipirinha Appreciation Society, a really cool Brazilian music podcast produced by Kika Serra and MDC Suingue (Brazilian spelling of swing). What really struck me about them was the awesome music they play. No super pop stuff, no vulgar lyrics. Kika and Suingue are right: They show Brazil beyond clichés through their podcasts.
Kika and Suingue are based in Rio de Janeiro and the show is aired weekly on SOAS Radio of the University of London and broadcast to the world as a podcast.
After listening to a few episodes I contacted them. We chatted and came up with a great idea to collaborate: Every week they will choose a song from their podcast and Street Smart Brazil will translate the lyrics for you. You will find the translated lyrics here on the Street Smart Brazil blog and on Caipirinha Appreciation Society’s blog.
Be sure to check these guys out and stay tuned to grab your lyrics and sing along with us! I am positive that you will learn about many new Brazilian songs, rhythms, and musicians.
PS: Check out what they say about Street Smart Brazil in episode 312 :)
