Brazilian/Italian Food in San Francisco: 53% Off at Mangarosa
For our readers in the San Francisco Bay Area, there is a particularly delicious deal in Brazilian cuisine today (and today only). Actually, it is Brazilian/Italian, but the pao de queijo and the caipirinhas are out-of-this world. Groupon is offering 53% off by selling $75 coupons for just $35.
Groupon is a daily newsletter that provides city-specific deals in order to promote restaurants, spas, and other service-related businesses. They do so by selling coupons for dollar values determined by the businesses for about 1/2 of the price. It is not every day, however, that one gets to sample delicious Brazilian cuisine, so we figured we'd share this one with our readers.
Mangarosa is a Brazilian-Italian fusion restaurant in North Beach. Manga Rosa means "Pink Mango" in Portuguese. The Brazilian twist is definitely visible in their dishes, and you'll find some staples like pao de queijo, coxinha, pastéis, and espetinhos. And those are just the appetizers. The restaurant also has Brazilian-themed events such as live dancers from the Energia Do Samba troupe every Thursday.
To sign up for the groupon, follow this link. The Groupon will only be sold today (January 11, 2010) and the deal will change tomorrow.

Note: At the time of posting, Street Smart Brazil is not affiliated with Groupon or Mangarosa-we honestly just think this is a great deal. However, we will get a small credit for future Groupons for those who sign up per their "Refer Friends" program.
