Your word this week is the verb Pegar.

Pegar means to grab or to touch, depending on the context. It can also mean to get.

Examples:

  • Eu vou pegar uma caneta para anotar o seu telefone. (I am going to grab a pen to write down your phone number)
  • Eu vou pegar uma cadeira para você. (I am going to get a chair for you)
  • Este lugar está muito sujo. Não quero pegar em nada. (This place is too dirty. I don't want to touch anything)

Pegar gripe

To catch a cold

Estou com dor de cabeça. Acho que peguei uma gripe.
